Not only is California financially bankrupt, but it is in a moral decay. A cancer within it’s society is spreading, this cancer is anti-Semitism. There is an increase in attacks against the Jewish community and individual Jews persons as well. What a shame on this City of Angels.
Los Angeles is full of anti-war protesters, peace marcher’s, equal rights advocates, and yet it is full of hypocrisy against the Jews. Why is it that everyone else can have rights and a voice, yet not the Jew?
Unfortunately this cancer and anti-Semitic mindset is not constrained to only Los Angeles, but is a global disease.
So why is anti-Semitism spreading like a viral pandemic without a vaccine? There are numerous answers and solutions, some with very good intentions. But the root of the problem is deep and it is also spiritual. You see, God has made a promise to the Jews, through his servant Abraham:
Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation. (Exodus 19:5-6)
For you are a people holy to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on earth to be his people, his treasured possession. (Deuteronomy 7:6)
For I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself so that they might declare my praise. (Isaiah 43:20-21)
Even in the throes of persecutions throughout the ages, and even within its own sovereign country, surrounded by its enemies, despite this, the Jews have always been, and always will be God’s chosen people. The Lord himself promised blessings to Abraham and his descendants, the Jews:
“Now the Lord had said to Abram: Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Gen. 12:1-3)
With the promise of blessings and/or cursing depending on how one treats the Jews should cause one to pause and consider their hostilities against the Jewish people, yet the anti-Semitism seems to flourish more so in Christian (in name only) and Muslim societies. Why is that? Is it because they are more aware of the promises of God to his chosen people? Yes, I believe so. Deep within their consciousness there is an awareness. They may not be aware of it, but spiritually it is there, the knowledge of God.
This explains the inhumane and illogical reason as to the deep seated hatred, because it is also spiritual. Certainly the scriptures exposes the darkness, and sheds light on the matter, that God chose the Jew to be his chosen people. Not because they were special in and of themselves. Meaning, they did not possess a special power, that we know. Being just mortals we do not know God’s thoughts or all of his reasons, only that which he chooses to reveal to us. But we do know that he decided to use the Jewish people as representatives of himself on this earth. And through the Jewish blood line all of humanity has been blessed, in the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, savior of all mankind, Jesus Christ, a Jew.
Who are those who are anti-semitic then? They are those with God rejecting minds. Rejecting God is turning away from love and his redemption plan for all mankind. Hatred towards the Jew is indicative of a far greater and deep seated fear, the fear of the presence and reality of the true God and his sacrifice and redeeming power. Therefore, an increase in anti-Semitism and hatred towards the Jews is really lashing out against God. In these days of Noah this hatred will increase, but it will not only be the Jews, but Christians as well. For the darkness hates the light.
For the gentiles the scriptures tell us this:
“And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise” (Gal. 3:29)
Praise God that every single person who receives Christ is also part of the promise!
Lord have mercy on California. As California goes, so goes the rest of the nation.

Anti-Semitic attacks up in Los Angeles
By Troy Anderson, Staff Writer
Anti-Semitic incidents soared 21 percent in California last year, led by a spike in vandalism, harassment and violence against Jews in the San Fernando Valley and other parts of Los Angeles, according to a report released Monday by the Anti-Defamation League.
While the number of incidents fell 7 percent nationwide to 1,352, complaints in California rose from 186 in 2007 to 226 last year. They included a Molotov cocktail attack at the Bernard Milken Jewish Community Campus in West Hills and the beating of an Orthodox man in North Hollywood.
“It’s almost like a virus,” said Amanda Susskind, regional director of the ADL.
In one case cited by the human-rights group, a Jewish student was punched in the stomach at a Valley school by an assailant who hurled anti-Semitic insults. Swastikas were drawn on Jewish students lockers at a Santa Clarita Valley high school and a Tarzana middle school. In Camarillo, preschools were tagged with swastikas in July and August of 2008.
“We see it in the school yards and the playgrounds and even to some degree on college campuses – kind of embracing the kind of rhetoric that 10 or 20 years ago was universally condemned as anti-Semitic and hateful.”
